“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Birthday SHout Outs

Miss Mo (that's what our Molly gets called) and Schmem! Happy Birthday to both of you. Can I just tell you how much I love you both? All I can say is RDC! How do we ever repay that place? First I meet Les then she brings Molly, then they send Em and Kristi...each year it kept getting better and better!
I can't believe how much we have all been through and changed in the 13 years I have known you guys. RDC, missions, Utah State, marriage, kids..... Can you believe 13 years? For Kristi, Les and Molly it has to have been at least 20 years? Is that right? We go through periods of time where I feel like we are in great contact and then other times when things get busy and we loose contact for a while but I know that we can all just pick up from where we left off. Throw on a tune or two, turn on the disco ball, throw on a pair of Khak's and we're good to go!
Molly I would have to say that Martha's Vineyard had to have been one of my favorite trips with you and Les. Oh boy...DO you remember Maggie and her boyfriend Jamie arguing as soon as we got off the dock? Do you remember crashing at a random persons house that we met at some club? How about that fact that it was illumination night? I still have that picture of all of us on the beach. I love that picture!
I also loved our trip down to Zions with my friend Patty...that was so fun. I will never forget Patty the first morning when she said S*&@ and then how she looked at Craig Barlow and said "I'm so sorry, I have been trying to be so good around you guys!"
Angels Landing....NEVER again! You could offer me a million dollars and I wouldn't do it. It would use all that money up for therapy after wards! BUT I am glad to say that I have done it.
I also will never forget you and Steph i the back seat on our way to North Conway....you know what I mean...
Molly I remember after I decided to move out here and you guys were going on missions that I was so bummed and couldn't understand WHY in the world you were going! Now looking back I admire you,Leslie, and Emily so much. What a great decision you three made. (as Kristi, Steph and I were dealing with Magic Shell on our walls) I couldn't believe how much you changed when you got back but it was all for the better and you were still the Crazy fun girls that we all loved!

Emily my dear sweet Em! Girl...we had some good times at RDC together. Do you remember the night we stayed in that cabin and you, Me, Kristi and Steph went skinny dipping? Then remember Craig and Homebrew came in and Craig played that U2 song on the guitar! That was such a fun night! Didn't someone take a bubble bath in there
and wasn't someone on the roof?
(wow, I am starting to think this Blog should be private because people that don't know the whole story might think crazy stuff!)
Em, I also remember the night I let you cut my hair. I thought it looked fine but a few days later it was so uneven! Who knew????
I loved going to town in the big blue bus with YOU driving!
Red Sox games! I love love loved going to the Red Sox games! What a blast!

What is so great about my memories of you two Birthday gals is that we are still making memories when we get together. I love that Ellie loves you Em and she knows you are the funny super nice guitar gal. Molly I love that my Miss Mo knows you because she knows ya'll have the same name. I love that Leslie started this whole chain of friends getting together and now look at us....

I hope that you Ladies had a great Birthday! I love you both a ton as you already know. I hope that this summer we can all get together. Em...are you still up for planning our next years girls weekend? If Les is still in Mexico..we are coming down Les!

Happy Happy Belated Day my friends!
I love love love you both and hope to see you soon!

Fun, Fun at the Zoo!!

Can you see little Miss, Avery crowding in to touch the snake?!
Karrie and Aaron and their new place!
Look at Payton, my brave girl, touching the snake!
Ahhhh, Mikkel and Payton (always posing!)
That's what I said, "always posing!"
Intensely viewing the animals!
Robert's little sisters.........
How's the view from up there, Owen?!
I'm glad we paid for the wagon that only the adults sat in or pushed!
Hey, even the "little man" touched the snake!
We picked up Mikkel in Pocatello and headed to Idaho Falls for the day. She is one crazy girl. We all adore her and are glad she was available. She is on a tight schedule filled with socializing, socializing and more socializing! We drove to IF to visit Karrie and Aaron and see their new home. It was so nice. The place is huge, open and roomy, and very warm and cozy. We loved it, and I think the kids favorite part was their indoor tennis court, you know, the unfinished basement where they hit balls against that wall all day! Robert's convinced we need to get the three little ones tennis rackets now! We headed to the zoo and the day was perfect. The weather was just right and the kids loved seeing all the animals. Later we barbecued at the new place and Jen and the kids came over too. They were visiting in IF and taking Sarah the next day to BYU, Idaho for EFY. We don't get to see them very often as they live in Colorado, so that was a nice surprise. Unfortunately by then, my camera had died. So, I didn't get any pics. of their cute family. But, don't you worry...this camera nazi will get several this summer when we all meet in Bear Lake for our family reunion! So, thanks for letting all of us mess up your beautiful new home, Karrie and Aaron, and especially for feeding this rowdy crew!

Lee's beach trip write up.

Lee wrote a cute little summary of their adventure to the beach while I was gone. It's on our family blog but I thought I'd put it here too.

Molly left town over the weekend for a half marathon in Utah and left me at the mercy of our children. Coincidentally, Oregon was experiencing a strange phenomenon that same weekend. The sun was out all over the state! I loaded up the kids and too much gear then headed for Indian Beach, one of our favorite spots along the Oregon Coast. The kids played for hours occupying their time by throwing rocks repeatedly in the tide pools, digging, watching a sea lion that was close to shore, splashing in water that makes you wish you were somewhere else and lounging on the blankets. Like all parents, I was concerned about their intake of health foods to fuel such activities so I fed them a steady diet of peanut butter crackers, doritos, chex mix and fruit snacks washed down with gatorade. Minus getting kids and gear to and from the beach, leaving Cade's favorite shorts drying on some driftwood, forgetting sunscreen near Campbell's elbow resulting in an interesting sunburn, (any credit for all the areas I did get?), Jack's busted lip and resulting "Dad, Jacks bleeding all over the place"scene. I would say the trip was an enormous success. Besides, we were heading to Camp 18 on the way home for some gigantic cinnamon rolls. One bite of the gooey center and all they will remember is that dad took them to the beach and had a perfect day. Come home soon mommy, we miss you!
